As a Supporter,

What challenges do you face?

Your friend or loved one is experiencing an emotional storm at sea and only seems to see you through mist and fog. They drift rudderless in rough waters, exposed to strong winds. You feel as if you’re on the shore, watching, helpless as well. You want to support them, to help them as best as you possibly can. But you don’t know how.

You notice they’re exhausted and you don’t know how to handle it. Be reassured-there is nothing “wrong” with your friend. A life crisis is a situation that doesn’t fall into a category of right or wrong. It can be a dramatic time for anyone – we want to prevent it from becoming traumatic.

We always want to tell our suffering friends that “Opportunities are everywhere” – but is this just a phrase?

Make this phrase a reality … make supporting someone your opportunity.

Helping is like pulling the boat ashore. I can help you more confidently explore this unknown world.

What can I do?

What should I focus on with my friend?

Are there possible pitfalls?

What can I do when…?

My friend doesn’t take the information or advice I provide? Don’t be disappointed! Your friend is always finally responsible for the decisions for his or her life. Don’t throw your hands up and walk away – as they progress through the phases, they will turn toward healthy solutions.
